Best New Restaurants in the Lehigh Valley, Poconos & New Jersey
The newest restaurants, buzzworthy openings, and must-try dining spots across the Lehigh Valley, Poconos, and New Jersey.
Some restaurants open quietly. Others immediately become the place filling your social media feed, taking over the group chat, and making you rethink where you are going for dinner this weekend.
Across the Lehigh Valley, Poconos, and New Jersey, the local dining scene continues to grow with fresh concepts, unexpected flavors, and new takes on familiar favorites. From a neon-lit Japanese izakaya and handmade pasta to towering plates of loaded fries and traditional Albanian dishes, there is no shortage of new places to try.
We rounded up nine spots that are newly opened, recently relocated, or earning fresh attention in 2026. Consider this your head start on where everyone will be eating next.
Lehigh Valley
Okatshe — Allentown
For a night out that feels completely different from the usual dinner reservation, Okatshe brings the energy of Tokyo after dark to downtown Allentown.
Created by Iron Chef and James Beard Award winner José Garces, the immersive Japanese izakaya was inspired by Tokyo’s neon signs, intimate alleyways, and lively late-night dining culture. Its menu is designed for sharing and exploring, with hand-rolled sushi, sashimi, maki rolls, yakitori skewers, steamed bao buns, Japanese whisky, sake, and shaved-ice desserts.
This is the spot for the group that wants dinner to feel like an experience—not simply another meal.
Simpatico — Allentown
Fresh pasta will always get people through the door, but Simpatico is giving diners more than another traditional Italian menu.
Located along the ArtsWalk between PPL Center and Allentown Symphony Hall, the restaurant serves pasta made fresh in-house, organic sourdough pizza, seasonal cocktails, and Italian-American dishes influenced by ingredients from the Lehigh Valley and beyond. Its crispy chicken parmigiana has already become one of the restaurant’s most frequently ordered dishes.
Simpatico works equally well for dinner before a show, a weeknight date, or an evening spent passing plates around the table with friends.
Cafe Crewy — Bethlehem
Not every noteworthy opening needs to be reserved for dinner.
Cafe Crewy has joined Bethlehem’s SouthSide with an all-day menu built around cold-pressed juices, specialty lattes, sandwiches, breakfast, and easy midday pick-me-ups. Its bright, casual approach makes it the kind of place you can visit for a quick coffee and accidentally stay through lunch.
Add this one to the list for coffee meetings, casual catchups, or mornings when your usual drive-through order is not going to cut it.
The Poconos
Eggs Up Grill — Stroudsburg
The Poconos has a new destination for the meal that deserves far more credit: breakfast.
Eggs Up Grill opened its Stroudsburg location in June 2026, marking the brand’s first restaurant operated by the Metz Group and the beginning of a larger Pennsylvania expansion. The daytime menu includes omelets, pancakes, breakfast sandwiches, bowls, burgers, and mimosas, with service running from early morning through lunch.
It is approachable enough for a weekday breakfast but varied enough to settle the never-ending debate over whether the table wants pancakes, eggs, or lunch.
The Frogtown Tavern — Stroudsburg
The team behind The Frogtown Chophouse has introduced a more casual counterpart—and it is already bringing something new to the Poconos dining scene.
The Frogtown Tavern pairs a warm, comfortable atmosphere with an uncomplicated menu of bold comfort food. Think double cheeseburgers with hand-cut fries, hand-tossed pizzas, volcano fries, and deviled eggs topped with bacon, blue cheese, and hot sauce.
Located in scenic Cherry Valley, just outside downtown Stroudsburg and Delaware Water Gap, it is built for the kind of evening where you want good food, a drink, and somewhere you can settle in without rushing through the meal.
Savory Eats — East Stroudsburg
A local food-truck favorite has found a new brick-and-mortar home in East Stroudsburg—and it is not holding back on the toppings.
Savory Eats began as a family-run food truck in 2019 and is now serving its signature comfort food from North Courtland Street. The menu centers on loaded fries and nachos, burgers, subs, hot dogs, fried sides, and combinations inspired by American, Latin American, and Greek flavors.
This is not the place for a delicate plate with three carefully positioned ingredients. It is the place for cheesy fries, hot honey chicken, oversized portions, and food you will probably want extra napkins to eat.
New Jersey
Blu — Livingston
Blu is bringing a polished, high-energy dining experience to Livingston with a menu that covers nearly every possible night-out craving.
The newly opened restaurant combines steaks, seafood, sushi, raw-bar selections, and handcrafted cocktails in a contemporary setting designed to feel as social as it does upscale. It comes from hospitality veteran Tony Settepani and aims to balance classic steakhouse dishes with modern flavors and a livelier atmosphere.
Keep this one in mind for celebrations, dressier date nights, or dinners that are likely to continue at the bar after the plates have been cleared.
Çka Ka Qëllu — Westwood
One of New York’s best-known Albanian restaurants has officially crossed into New Jersey.
Çka Ka Qëllu opened its first Garden State location in Westwood, bringing traditional Albanian, Kosovan, and Mediterranean-inspired cooking to Bergen County. The menu includes layered fli, veal-filled mantia dumplings, slow-roasted lamb, mixed-grill platters, branzino, baklava, and Albanian trilece.
The rustic atmosphere and less-familiar menu make it an especially strong choice for diners who are tired of rotating through the same Italian, steakhouse, and sushi reservations.
The Pasta Shop — Denville
The Pasta Shop is not a brand-new restaurant, but the attention surrounding it is very new—and very deserved.
The intimate, 24-seat Denville restaurant was selected as one of USA Today’s 2026 Restaurants of the Year, placing it among only 39 restaurants chosen across the country. It is known for handmade pasta, farm-sourced ingredients, and wood-fired Italian-American dishes, including meatballs, mozzarella sticks, pappardelle Bolognese, chicken parmigiana, and seasonal pasta preparations.
With limited seating and national recognition now behind its name, this may be the restaurant on the list you should visit before even more people discover it.
Which One Is First on Your List?
Whether you are planning an overdue date night, meeting friends for brunch, or simply tired of ordering from the same three places, these restaurants offer plenty of reasons to try somewhere new.
The only difficult part is deciding where to start.
Which restaurant are you adding to your list—and what new local spot do you think everyone should know about?
At Choice Realty Group, we believe knowing an area means understanding more than its homes. It means knowing the restaurants, businesses, experiences, and people that make each community feel like home.
